Woman arrested after weapons found at Selsey address

A woman was arrested after a warrant was executed at an address in Selsey on Thursday (6 August).

Police had been alerted to concerns over suspicious activity in the area.

A large quantity of weapons and imitation firearms were seized from the property.

A 38-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of importing prohibited weapons and has been released under investigation while enquiries are ongoing.

The warrant was executed by police from local enforcement teams and teams working with Home Office funding to tackle serious violence and knife crime.

Sergeant Scott Walters said: “We continue to encourage members of the public to report any suspicious activity or behaviour in their area.

“We are determined to proactively enforce laws around possession, importation and use of knives and bladed articles.

“Dangerous items have no place on our streets and it remains a priority for Sussex Police to locate and remove from our communities.”
