The Stags Head in Westbourne has been awarded a Travellers Choice Award by TripAdvisor, placing it in the exclusive club of the top ten per cent of restaurants worldwide.
The Travellers Choice Awards are given to those venues that have the best reviews, ratings, and savings that travellers share from across the globe. The Stags Head is very much at the centre of Westbourne’s village life, it is most known for its mouth-watering Sunday carvery and it breakfasts throughout the week.
Stuart and Anita Webb, publicans of The Stags Head for over three years, said: “We cannot believe that we have been given this award! It is a fantastic achievement and is down to the hard work and dedication of our team. Our local family pub in Westbourne is our pride and joy and we must thank all our customers for making this award possible.”
This award follows a number of accolades the pub has received over the past year. It has been named the Best Pub and Bar in Westbourne/Emsworth 2019 by the Restaurant Guru and crowned Gastropub of the Year (West Sussex) and awarded Best Sports and Live Music Entertainment in the LUX Excellence Awards.
Stuart and Anita continued: “We have all experienced unprecedented times recently, but we eager to be able to play a small role in still being at the heart of our community. During lockdown we started a take-way food service, which we are still currently operating, in addition to eat-in. It has been hugely popular, and it was great to be able to stay in touch with our locals. We have now been re-open since July 7, and it is great to welcome all our customers, safely, back through our doors so we can celebrate this award with them!”
