I am currently carrying out some research into holiday camps in the West Sussex area and would be grateful to any reader who can help me with information, including photographs, of one particular holiday camp in the Chichester area.
The camp in question was named Lazalea Holiday Camp, and existed on Broad Road, Nutbourne, in the parish of Hambrook. As far as I can tell, it was popular for school children’s holidays in the 1950s and early 1960s.
One 1931 Ordnance Survey map shows the site as Nutbourne Holiday Camp, so it would seem that it existed before the Second World War?
If anyone is able to help I can be contacted by email on: firstname.lastname@example.org – all mail will be acknowledged.
