A SURVEYING firm in Chichester were highly commended in the best use of technology category at a London awards ceremony.
Macleod Simmonds based in Appledram Lane South, attended the 2019 Construction News Awards at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Thursday, July 11.
Established in 1996, the awards showcase the industry and have become the most prestigious awards in the construction sector.
In a rigorous process, the judges initially score the original entry, with finalists then presenting their entry to a panel of judges.
Macleod Simmonds competed against several of the top UK firms and were highly commended in the best use of technology category.
Managing director Craig Simmonds said: “The team really deserved this fantastic accolade. The passion they have all shown in delivering what I can only describe as the ‘best in class’ survey results have proven once again to change the way major infrastructure projects are delivered. I am so proud of all of them.”
The award was in response to the company’s pioneering sub surface radar imaging technology, which the firm has researched and developed over the last ten years.
Judges praised the presentation delivered by Macleod Simmonds and recognised the enormous potential of the sub surface radar technology for benefiting the wider construction industry.
