Noddy News July 2019

Our chain of five charity boutiques that support Mount Noddy are recruiting for a volunteer driver for just one day every three weeks and holiday cover where needed.

This is a great opportunity if you love driving, are up for a physical challenge and want to help us to keep our shop donations fresh and appealing for our customers.

The role involves driving our small shops van for a full day (9am-5pm) where it will be pre-loaded ready for collection at Mount Noddy. The route is pre-planned by the business and income manager, Clare Palmer, who oversees the five local shops.

She says: “This role is so important to the smooth running of the shops. The animal centre relies on the shop profits to keep running, and so getting the donations to the shop premises for our customers to buy is so important in this operation.”

The ideal candidate needs to be able to lift and move often heavy and awkward boxes and bags in and out of the van between our shops, where the staff and volunteers help as much as possible.

It’s a rewarding position, and we already have two regular drivers but are needing to expand the team to suit everyone and ensure there are no gaps in the process.

Clare adds: “We generally prefer someone to be able to do a mid-week day to keep it regular, but can be a little flexible around that. The most important thing is that someone is reliable and happy to do it long-term!”

If you are interested in taking on this role, please get in touch with Clare for an informal chat. You will need to have a full, clean driving licence before being considered.

Our shops are also looking for a shops maintenance volunteer, just on an ad-hoc basis. Sometimes our shops have minor things that need fixing and so someone who likes to do DIY and is knowledgeable in a few areas, can certainly be considered. All supplies needed will be reimbursed from the shop and we will ensure you are kept hydrated with tea and coffee! We sometimes need a variety of little jobs doing, such as changing strip light bulbs, tightening taps, screwing holes, putting up a shelf and general maintenance fixes!

Helping our shops will always be in fashion, so don’t wait, we have spaces available right now.

Our five shops are located at

2 The Arcade, Bognor Regis,
35 East Street, Horsham
50 North Street, Chichester
135 Montague Street, Worthing
70 High Street, Littlehampton

Don’t forget, we always need your clothing donations, too, especially ladies and mens, shoes, bags and bric-a-brac. All shops are open seven days a week with friendly and welcoming staff and volunteers. We hope to hear from you soon.
