We are all planning our summer holidays and getting very excited by the prospect of sunny shores and sangria!
Wherever you are taking off to this summer, or even if you have decided to stay here in the beauty of the UK you will be wanting to prepare for skin and body to be beach ready! My two best tips for instant skin health are this:
Skin brushing – If you haven’t got one already then go and buy one. You can easily find them on Amazon or in a good health shop.
Why do we not put more emphasis on what should ideally be a daily ritual? You may well brush your hair every day, and you certainly brush your teeth, so why don’t we all brush our skin? It has so many benefits it’s ridiculous, such as creating good circulation and stimulating the lymphatic system which are crucial parts of good health.
The lymphatic system is made up of organs and lymph nodes, ducts and vessels, and helps the body to detox naturally as many of the vessels run just below the skin. Skin brushing not only creates stimulation, but exfoliation, too.
The process of running a firm brush over the skin helps loosen and remove dead skin cells, creating a much healthier appearance and feel.
Coffee scrubs – These can be very helpful in improving skin appearance and reducing cellulite, giving the skin a firmer look. The caffeine in the coffee has a tightening effect and the massage and exfoliating benefits improves the condition and appearance of the skin. It’s so simple and all you need to do is: Get a quarter of a cup of ground coffee, three tablespoons of brown sugar, and three tablespoons of melted coconut oil. Combine the ingredients to create a paste and store in a glass jar. It will harden when cooled, but just rubbing in your hands will soften again. Massage into your skin for several minutes every morning with firm pressure and you will see the difference almost immediately! If you continue to use over a two-week period, the results are wonderful.
This all works best with a good exercise regime, drinking plenty of water and eating as clean as you can.
