CHICHESTER City Band has been busy rehearsing for this year’s Twinning anniversary.
The band’s first concert this year will be held tomorrow for the 60th anniversary celebrations of the city’s twinning with Chartres, France.
The band and its MD, Rom Stanko, have put together a programme of French and British musical favourites for a special concert on Saturday, in Chichester’s Assembly
In association with The Friends of Chartres, the band will be treating visitors from the French twin city to a taste of one of Britain’s finest amateur music-making traditions.
As part of the celebrations, a tree planting takes place today (Friday) at Litten Gardens to mark the anniversary and an Evensong at Chichester Cathedral.
As part of the celebrations, there will also be a re-sign of the Deed of Jumelage and a celebration dinner with the Mayor of Chartres.
