Chichester RFC face a tough start to 2019 as they welcome promotion chasing Medway to Oaklands Park tomorrow (2pm).
Blues ended 2018 with two consecutive defeats after a promising run in November lifted them away from the bottom of London South One.
A fortmight off for Christmas will have given Scott Ashley’s Chi side time to rest and recuperate after what was a punishing start to the campaign.
But, even with many of their key players back, they will be up against it tomorrow against a Medway side who are strong on both sides of the ball. The visitors have lost just twice all season and are currently third.
Chi, though, will take heart from the reverse match back in September when a depleted Blues side pushed Medway all the way in a narrow 25-20 loss.
Blues will expect to make a number of changes from their last match before the festive break, which resulted in a 42-12 reverse to Tottonians.
–In Hampshire Premier, Bognor head to Alresford tomorrow looking to get back to winning ways.
The Purple and Greens, who are third in the division, narrowly lost to leaders Basingstoke 14-15 before the Christmas break.
With tomorrow’s hosts sitting in the bottom third of the division, Bognor will be hoping for a bonus point win to keep up the pressure on the top two.
