University prepares to host a big international conference

THE Paris terror attacks and the potential impact of Brexit on France will be discussed at an international conference in Chichester next month. World-renowned academics of the Society for the Study of French History will, for the first time, meet at the University of Chichester from Sunday 3 to Tuesday 5 July. The annual conference, which will also celebrate its 30th anniversary, comprises three days of lectures and keynote speeches under the title of High and Low Culture: Elite and Popular Constructions. It has been organised in part by Professor Hugo Frey, Head of the Department of History and Politics at the University. He said: “This is a prestigious international conference, a real festival of Francophile history, politics, literature, and art. It is an honour to be the co-organisers and we are delighted the Society and its members are joining us.” It will be held at the university’s Bishop Otter campus on College Lane
