Playing the game

Visitors attended an evening of games in the city last Friday.

The Game On! Event was held as part of the national Museums at Night festival at the Novium Museum.

More than 50 guests attended, and engagement and feedback was resoundingly positive.

Demonstrators included Owen Lambert, director of local gaming haven Comic, Games & Coffee, Asmodee UK, the UK & Europe’s leading distributor of board and card games, and Southampton-based Emma May, of Emmerse Studios.

Visitors were encouraged to try a range of games including Cobra Paw (a very popular game for the evening!), Quirk!, Bananagrams and Dobble, to name just a few.

Members of the Chichester Gaming Society became ‘living exhibits’ and played rounds of Pandemic and The Settlers of Catan, with guests able to observe and learn the intricacies of the games.

The next Game On! Will take place on Friday, June 15, from 7pm to 10pm, at The Novium Museum. Booking is essential and tickets can be purchased online: thenovium.org/gameplan or by calling 01243 816525.
